VfL Bochum 1848 and Tom Weilandt will continue their journey together: The 26-year-old has penned a new contract, keeping him at the club until 30.06.2022. Weilandt has been under contract at Bochum since 2016 and has made 45 appearances for the blue and whites, scoring ten times along the way. This season he’s scored seven times and assisted twice.
“We’re pleased that we were able to extend Tom Weilandt’s contract. He’s become a really valuable player for us over the past two seasons, playing in just over 40 games and being involved with just under 20 goals”, Sebastian Schindzielorz, VfL Bochum 1848’s Head of Football, said. “At 26 Tom is at the peak age in footballing terms and already has enough experience to help us in a demanding 2. Bundesliga”, Schindzielorz added.
Tom Weilandt is also happy with the new deal: “VfL was my first point of contact and discussions were very constructive. I’ve always expressed how good I feel in Bochum. Despite the recent dip in form I’m convinced that we’re on the right path and will do good for our fans,” he said.
