Soma Novothny will leave VfL Bochum 1848 with immediate effect. The 27-year-old attacker is joining 13-time Cypriot champions Anorthosis Famagusta. Novothny, whose contract with VfL would have expired at the end of June this year, has played 21 competitive games for the Blue and Whites, scoring three goals. He has made six appearances this season and got a goal in the 2-0 win over TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. Both clubs agreed not to disclose the transfer fee.
"Soma Novothny approached us with the desire to terminate his contract early to pursue a new challenge. We have complied with this request, and thank him for his commitment and wish him all the best," said VfL’s Managing Director of Sport Sebastian Schindzielorz.
