Germany won their second group game 3-2 against Saudi Arabia at the Olympics in Japan and consequently kept their chances of advancing alive. VfL newcomer Eduard Löwen played the entire 90 minutes.

It was a shaky affair, but in the end Stefan Kuntz's team narrowly came out on top. As against Brazil, Nadiem Amiri (11th) and Ragnar Ache (43rd) scored for Germany, but Saudi Arabia came back into the game (30th, 50th). Felix Uduokhai headed home with fifteen minutes to go to make the score 3-2 (75th).

On Wednesday (10am CEST), Germany will go head-to-head with Côte d'Ivoire for a place in the quarter-finals. Germany will only advance if they win.
