What a dramatic ending! With virtually the last kick of the game, VfL Bochum wrapped up an all-important win in Dresden. After a goalless first half, Bochum top scorer Silvère Ganvoula gave us the lead after 65 minutes shortly after coming off the bench. Just six minutes later, Nikolaou equalised for the hosts. Then Vitaly Janelt grabbed the spotlight by nodding in a superb cross from Danny Blum in the third minute of added time.

Thomas Reis made two changes with Wintzheimer starting up front in place of Ganvoula, who dropped to the bench. In addition, Janelt came back into the starting eleven, with Tom Weilandt staying at home in Bochum.

1’ After the minute's silence in solidarity for the victims of the terror attack in Hanau, the game kicks off in Dresden.

8‘ A very cautious start to the match with both teams taking relatively few risks. Considering the importance of the match, who can blame them?

10‘ The first chance falls to the Blau-Weißen with Blum’s header hitting the crossbar.

14’ Now it‘s Dynamo that go close! Ebert’s shot is blocked by Soares.

16‘ Blum again! Great play leads to Wintzheimer teeing up our winger, but his shot is saved.

25’ Ballas climbs up to head a corner but his effort is a good three yards wide of the goal.

29‘ Blum takes a free kick from the left and Broll punches the ball clear.

42’ Good play by the hosts, but Maxim Leitsch is alert to intercept the low cross.

Half-time: Not at its most fluid yet, but there is simply too much at stake for both teams. VfL had the best chance from Zolli’s cross and Blum’s header. Overall, both teams have looked rather settled in defence.

46’ No changes at the break

56’ Ebert floats in a free-kick from the left side for Nikolaou to slide in and make contact – but it's straight at Riemann!

60’ Substitution for VfL: Ganvoula on for Wintzheimer!

65‘ GOALLL! Silvère super-sub! Our striker finds Blum with a nifty back-heel, who races down the left and finds Ganvoula again for the latter to drive it home low with his left.

71‘ Goal. Dynamo strike back after a corner. Nikolaou beats Tesche to the header and despite a visible shove, no foul is given.

79‘ Blum from distance but the ball goes narrowly over.

82‘ Second substitution for VfL: Osei-Tutu for Zoller!

89‘ A lucky break is needed here.

90‘ Three minutes of added time here.

90+3‘ GOOOOOAL! WHAT A FINISH! Virtually with the last touch of the game, Janelt gets to the ball on the edge of the six-yard-box, maintains his balance and heads into the far corner. What a relief!

We take all three extremely important points in Dresden. A last-gasp strike from Janelt! Excellent, resolute defending throughout and clinical finishing at the other end- well done lads!!
