Thomas Letsch (head coach VfL Bochum 1848): "My congratulations to Xabi Alonso and his team. I think every spectator witnessed a great game today. I am extremely proud of my team. We showed everything you need to show when fighting against relegation. And that against a top team. Everyone knows the quality of Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Nevertheless, we were on eye level, especially in the first half. But football is a game of mistakes. We made one or two too many of them. On the one hand I'm sad, but on the other hand I'm absolutely proud. If we always perform like that away from home, we will earn our points.”

Xabi Alonso (head coach Bayer 04 Leverkusen): "Thank you for the congratulations. I am very happy with the performance of my team. We knew we had to put on an intense game, and we did that well. Bochum had a good plan, they fought well and gave everything. The first goal was important to get into the game. We're happy about the three points and we'll take self-confidence with us for the upcoming tasks."

Anthony Losilla: "We showed today that we can also keep up against strong opponents. Unfortunately, we didn't take the chances we had. We know that we have
to bring the same intensity to the pitch away from home as we do at home. We can take a lot of positive things with us and we have to keep working on it. Then we will
also earn more points away from home."

Keven Schlotterbeck: "The disappointment is huge. We were aiming for a lot today. The first goal is my fault, that's on me. Nevertheless, we put everything on the line. We
should have been a bit more determined. All in all, it was a good performance from us, and we can build on that. Now we have to regenerate and win in Mainz on Saturday"

Christopher Antwi-Adjei: "We knew it was not going to be easy. Nevertheless, we presented ourselves well. Often, we were missing a foot or the last consequence. It was a decent game for us, we fought our way back into the game even after the 1-0. We had our chances, and with a bit more luck we could have scored a goal or two.
Today it just wasn't meant to be."
