Vonovia is VfL’s new main sponsor

VfL Bochum 1848 have a new main sponsor: Vonovia SE. The previous Premium Partner and Stadium Name Sponsors are expanding their commitment to the club and their logo will be present on the chest of VfL’s jersey for at least the next two seasons, regardless of the league. The company, whose headquarters are in Bochum, has been a partner of the Blue and Whites since 2016.

"We are delighted that Vonovia is now the main sponsor of VfL in addition to its existing commitment sponsoring the stadium’s name”, said VfL’s Chairman Hans-Peter Villis. “It is a further commitment to Bochum as a location that one of the city's largest employers supports the city's largest club as a main sponsor."

“It's great to be able to have the Vonovia logo on the chest of the VfL jerseys in future”, said Ilja Kaenzig, spokesman for the VfL management. “The fact that a successful DAX-listed company (a stock index that represents 30 of the largest and most liquid German companies that trade on the Frankfurt Exchange) is now our main sponsor fills us with pride.”

Christoph Wortmann, Director of Marketing & Sales at VfL, agrees: “We have always maintained a trusting partnership with Vonovia. The fact that this is now being further intensified is entirely in the interest of our club. We are looking forward to the coming years.”

“Sustainability is of central importance to us as a company. This also applies to our partnerships,” says Arnd Fittkau, CEO of Vonovia. “We stand by Bochum as a location. And we stand by the club. VfL and Vonovia - it simply works. We have been closely involved with VfL as an honest and down-to-earth traditional club for five years now. It is therefore all the sweeter that we are now also showing our cooperation on the jersey. We at Vonovia are keeping our fingers crossed for VfL in the coming years.
