Our fan liaison officer - Dirk Michalowski
Born 4 March 1971 in Bochum, Dirk Michalowski has been working as full-time fan liaison officer since the 1st of August 2003.
Dirk – who is better known as “Moppel” – has been an aficionado of our VfL already in his early boyhood.
In 1991 he has joined the fan club “Die Treuen (The Faithfuls)” whose chairman he became only 18 months later. In addition to that, he was elected as member of the fans’ council.
In 1997 Dirk Michalowski has assumed Frank Heinemann’s office and was appointed the new fan attendant. For several years, in addition to his job as gas and water plumber, he has been attending Bochum’s fan scene, before the board of directors has appointed him the first full-time VfL fan liaison officer on the 1st of August 2003.
